Mission Statement

atelier Bernard Chang is dedicated to creating, promoting, and managing art that addresses the urgent realities of our changing world – particularly Global Warming and its profound effects on cities, nature, and humanity. Led by Bernard Chang, an emerging painter and accomplished architect, the studio explores the intersections of urban design, environmental stewardship, and artistic expression.

With over three decades of global architectural experience, Bernard brings a unique perspective to his painting practice, blending his expertise in spatial design with a deep concern for climate change and its impact on both built and natural environments. His work reflects a commitment to investigating how rising temperatures, sea levels, and ecological shifts are transforming the lives of people and the face of cities worldwide.

Sustainability is at the core of our mission. We integrate eco-friendly materials and responsible practices into all our projects, striving to foster a culture of environmental consciousness within both art and architecture. Through innovative paintings, urban interventions, and cross-disciplinary collaborations, Atelier Bernard Chang seeks to spark dialogue and inspire action toward more resilient communities and sustainable futures.

We believe that architects and artists have a vital role in shaping not only our physical surroundings but also our collective awareness of environmental issues. By weaving together artistry, architectural insight, and social responsibility, we aim to create impactful experiences that engage audiences, enrich culture, and champion a sustainable vision for cities and the planet.

Lam Woon Tong

The past and present intertwine, serving as sacred testaments to the passage of time and guiding Lam Woon Tong on his heroic journey. For him, showcasing his capabilities within the art world transcends mere necessity; it becomes an odyssey rich with passion, action, and imagination. Tong’s creations intricately dance between the realms of reality and unreality, with one half of the canvas capturing the tangible world while the other ventures into the mystical.
Life’s relentless struggles manifest in the interplay of lines within realistic forms, symbolizing the unresolved challenges that engage human xperience. His art transforms into a powerful incantation, inviting viewers to delve into their own desires and confront the complexities of xistence.
Drawing inspiration from symbolic imagery, Tong deftly navigates the transitions between artistic movements, each evolution marking a ransformative chapter in his narrative. Having mastered Western techniques, he also embraces the ancient wisdom of traditional Chinese art, killfully wielding the four treasures of paper, brushes, ink, and pottery. Through this alchemical fusion, Tong articulates profound concepts: Passion, Posture, Movement, Dance, and Love; each word serving as a mystical thread woven into the heroic tapestry of his artistic vision.
In this journey, Tong embodies the belief that “writing Art is joyous; its interest is undeniable,” celebrating the profound connection between creativity and the essence of the human experience, and inviting us all to partake in this rich dialogue.

Leung Chiu Yung

Leung Chiu Yung’s practice is a compelling exploration of the intricate relationship between mind and hand, where drawing transcends mere representation to become a profound extension of her evolving consciousness. From the very beginning, Chiu Yung has been acutely aware of the dynamic interplay between the artist and her medium, understanding that the journey from experience to practice—and ultimately to art—demands both time and introspection.
In a world where artistic expressions are in constant flux, shaped by the currents of modernity, Chiu Yung grapples with the question of what orm might best encapsulate her identity. This quest led her to embrace colour pencils, a medium that resonates deeply with her artistic voice—simple, pure, and fundamentally expressive. Through these tools, Chiu Yung channels the whispers of her subconscious, seamlessly merging content and form into a cohesive visual language. In the solitude of creation, she endeavours to bridge the divide between her inner self and the external world, revealing profound truths that embody a serene beauty and authentic emotional resonance in her work.
